of Eli S. Ricker, 1903-1919.
Volume two in the "Voices of the American West" series from the notes of interviews conducted by Eli S. Ricker. The editor, Richard Jensen, has done a nice job of putting together these interviews which, from the introductions of both volumes, were extremely fragmented as well as having some written a personal shorthand which it seems only Ricker had the full key.
Several interviews with people in the Montana Column as well as citizens and former scouts or soldiers who came into contact with Indian participants of the LBH in later years. As a matter of fact, I have questions about those which I will be posing in some other thread.
Almost half the book is devoted to interviews with witnesses, etc. to Wounded Knee. However there are interviews with participants in the Cheyenne Wars of 1864-1865, Washita, Slim Buttes, etc.
Best of wishes,
Billy
