We are maybe not talking about the same man. Red Horse the Minniconjou chief is him: An influent Minniconjou chief whose service at the battle was nothing less than brilliant.

Frank, look at my web site (under Custer) and see if any of the Washita documents help. The Secretary of Interior's report is somewhere around but I haven't made time to scan, proof, edit (for spelling errors) and format it. One of these days! freepages.history.rootsweb.com/~familyinformation/#custerBilly Thanks Billy, tons of information, thanks a bunch!

For some reason, I had always thought that Mrs. Blinn's and her son's bodies were found upstream? in one of the Comanche or Arapaho villages.

Billy Because Sheridan and Custer said so altough they never saw the bodies themselves. The people who found them (Kansas volunteers all said that the Blinns stood near the location where the 7th cavaly had killed warchief Black Kettle)

The people who found them (Kansas volunteers all said that the Blinns stood near the location where the 7th cavaly had killed warchief Black Kettle) That would be nice to believe but the Kansas Volunteers were not at Washita until Custer's second expedition to the river during which the bodies of Elliott and his men were recovered. So, to be blunt about it, it is at the best second-hand information. I believe in legalese that type of information is called "hearsay." Billy

Mister Markland, when were Clara Blinn and her son being found ? During the second expedition, on December 11 1868 That makes it even more unlikely that they were found in Black Kettle's village as that was burned to the ground during the first expedition. Billy

Billy They were found near the location of Black Kettle's body, not in the village itself.
