Markland
I did do a copy and paste. I just highlight, copy and paste.
The 400 or more books got "lost" when we transferred my library from an old disk from the old PC. I gotta put them all back in probably by hand if I can't find the other pages to scan.

Linda,
I didn't notice it listed, perhaps I've overlooked it, nevertheless, I was under the impression that you had in your collection a book I've been trying to find for some time now, titled, Pastures in the sun: The story of the man General George A. Custer and his wife Elizabeth Bacon Custer" by Della Tyler Key.
Am I mistaken? If not, as I highly respect your viewpoint on the subject, would you give me your overall opinion of the book? I'd like to know whether it's worth the time and effort to keep looking for it.
Thanks so much, jc

You know something, alfuso... you're good for me. Now I not gonna feel so bad when people look at me sort of askance when I tell them I'm a "Custer-nut."
I don't know of a LIBRARY w/ that kind of collection! I've been in libraries that don't have that many books, TOTAL!
You know something? You are single handedly making me enjoy this Website more & more. Now... what do you think of the 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers?
Fred.

I may have that book. As I said, I'm missing about 400 that have to be put in by hand and another 200 that have just not been catalogued yet.

I've never forgiven The Bums for leaving Brooklyn in 1958. But then, I haven't forgiven the Braves for abandoning Boston about the same time. (they went to Milwaukee and became the Brewers and are now in Atlanta as the Braves again)

Alfuso,
Actually the Milwaukee Braves moved to Atlanta in 1965. The Milwaukee Brewers weren't formed until 1970.

alfuso--
Jim is right. The "Braves" line is unbroken; but I remember when they left Boston. I thought it was deplorable, so you can imagine how I felt when the Dodgers left Brooklyn. My father used to take me to their games. Sigh!
If we ever get to meet, I'll tell you a baseball story about the Dodgers that you will NEVER believe. I think it is an incredible story... but that's a whole 'nother thread.
You have some great collection, alfuso/ Linda. I admire you for it.
Best wishes, Fred.

Well, I'm too young to have been heartbroken by the Bums leaving Brooklyn. Plus, I'm a Left Coaster, and my first baseball game was at Chavez Ravine. I bleed Dodger Blue, and October 1988 was the highlight of my sports-spectatin' life...

Crab--
It ain't the same, buddy. I left the fold in the early '90's. Couldn't deal w/ the miserable O'Malleys quitting, all the re-treads, the has-beens, the same old 2-bit free agents... It's a shame. It was a marvelous franchise over the years; but the memories are merely like dendelion seeds blowing in the wind.
Too bad.
Fred.
