The National Archives has put together this on-line book of photographs consisting of 196 images. Good pictures, some familiar, many not. They deal with subjects from North American Indians (too bad they did not offer larger sizes of those photos), the Revolution, Civil War, WWII, Black Americans in America, US Navy ships (another one which would have benefited from larger sizes of the photos).
