I have long held a fascination with the American West of the 1800's and lawlessness of the frontier. WEST OF HELL'S FRINGE by the late Glenn Shirley is a great read on the lawlessness of the Oklahoma territory or the Indian Territory. Shirley was a great writer and knew his subject well. Seems every criminal of the time chose to hide out there, and law officers were sent to 'bring um in'. A great book on the Daltons, Bill Doolin and a number of robbers & murderers 'what hung out there.' Excellent.
