I have a original framed picture of! There Was A Man: Custer's Last Stand-The Massacre That Will Never Be Forgotten This is FOR Sale! I was searching for information about this picture and saw someone was looking for one and only 1 was known to be in existence at a Museum! So this is now available. I live in Sturgis South Dakota and am willing to part with this nice picture. The frame is wood grain paper laminate. The glass is original! No stains or discoloration on the print. The backing paper is very old and dried out but it's intact but torn away on one corner. Original nails in from holding print to frame. This photo is flipped and I can't change that here. Enquire at my E-Mail and I'll get back to you! Dale Barker

Hi Dale, I'm the fellow you refer to. I was looking for a print by Eric Von Schmidt titled "Here Fell Custer", shown here as the headpiece www.friendslittlebighorn.com/battle-art.htmAs you can see it's decidedly unromantic. I believe Eric spent time at LBH making sure he had the perspectives correct of the view to river and valley beyond. The print you are offering is by Harold Von Schmidt, Eric's father. I never sought out the original by Eric at Wichita State, as shortly after my post a copy of Eric's work showed up on eBay, unframed for only $45 and I latched on to it. Mike Powell
