French was from Baltimore, attended Georgetown(as article states) and more important than his burial, why was he and all members of Company M kept out of the RCOI. I know he was a drunk and under house arrest at the time, but he still could have been called, he had a perspective. Maybe he would have upset the planned narrative.
Noggy are you aware that when French was asked by Benteen who he wanted to submitted for the MOI, his response was all or none.
Regards, Tom

Your article gave up almost everything I knew, I knew he was removed to Washington but did not know where.

Regards, Tom It`s from 1980 or something, so wellread gentlemen like yourself will know most of it by now. Personally, I like interviews with people who know tons of stuff about subjects I like. And yes, I have read French`s comments about medals. Not that big fan of individual medals/honors regardless of in war or sports, so I relate. (I got two myself, still don`t know why) All the best, Geir

There may have been some rivalry between Benteen and French and it seems that life was interesting in barracks at Ft. Meade. I haven't managed to dig up more from the archives yet but you neverknow. Good old Lounsberry.

Good old Lounsberry. Benteen and Weir, Weir and Reano, Custer and Benteen, Reno and Benteen...Surely French would fit in somewhere.
