Does anybody know the story of how Benny Hodgson's body ended up being disinterred from the battlefield and then reinterred in Philadelphia's Laurel Hill Cemetery? I've visited his grave there, and was really surprised to find a casualty of the LBH battle buried there, knowing the difficult circumstances faced by the burial details on the battlefield. Any help in unraveling this mystery will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Fred mentioned the reburial in his Participants book. The officers' bodies were often returned to their families for burial elsewhere; e.g., Tom Custer, Calhoun, and Yates at Fort Leavenworth.
