Some say that the Crow scouts never fired into the village from the bluffs near Ford B. Just a bit of bragging in later years.
But what if the scouts were simply misremembering or embellishing a tale that had some element of truth in it? Is it possible that the scouts never went as far north along the bluffs as has been claimed and that they actually fired into the Spotted Tail village that was east of the river?
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Michael

Michael, I will defer to Fred or others, with regard to that village on the east side of the river. There is evidence of a smaller encampment there. Timing of the encampment is where I come up short. Was it incorporated into the main village before the battle or was it a support location used keep an eye on Reno?

In Doug Scott's book Uncovering History he writes on page 80 about " a recently discovered Sioux camp on the east side of the river."
A must have book in my opinion.
