I am doing some fairly extensive work on the battlefield markers and figured I would start a thread and post the marker numbers and placement here-- mainly for general reference-- but also to elicit comments if someone has something valuable to add. While it is fatuous to say we can identify individuals, there are elements of archaeology when coupled with army archives that may help. I have found that to be true. Anyway, here are the markers along with some of my own comments. I would welcome any sort of constructive commentary.

The Walter Camp interviews maintained that CPL John Briody (F) had been found at this site with one leg cut off and placed under his head by the Indians. The placement of the discovered bones would be consistent with such an event.
