16:09 14 June 2015 Mission is to float the LBH River at or near the battlefield. Eastern contingent/company will be a bit short. Yours truly and my son in laws father. There will be projects to perform, before we arrive: *Visit Wall Drug *Visit Badlands *Visit Black Hills *Visit Mt Rushmore *Have dinner with a wonderful family in the Black Hills * attack exercise on Prairie Dogs in Newell, SD *Check in at 7th Ranch for some much needed R&R *Meet up with AZ & Canuck's. Report to commander, GAC, see photo.
I hope we recognize him, he looks like so many major's I have met.
I understand he will take a bite out of your nuts if you don't shape up.
I will try to keep you a-breast of developments. Gosh, I hope I spelled that correctly.
Regards, Tom

Tom that photo looks like it could have been took in England, with what looks like a canal and lock gates plus the greenery.
Have a great time mate.
Ian.

Ian, I guess I was calling on my inner HR tendencies, including the picture. The pix was taken on a back deck, of a condo in NC.

Well, you all have heard about the river float AZ, others, and yours truly were going to do. Canceled this AM do to lack of recon(WO can fill you in on problems that causes) we found out that two Crow ranches have strung barbed wire across the river. Also swimmers came up with rashes while swimming down stream from cattle crossings. I have a sinus infection to begin with so we called it off.
On a better note we back tracked from ford A to Busby yesterday(7th route) made numerous stops along the way. Did not find a lone tepee but approximate location, further from the river than I thought. Local tells us location of Crows Nest might be wrong. Location he showed us works well. Found divide marker and not far away AZ found the location of an 1874 battle that I knew nothing of. Tullock's further away than practical (opinion).
Chuck did you get photo?
Regards, Tom

Well dang it Tom, I know you were all looking forward to the float - good move, in my opinion, to cancel. I'll be looking forward to annoying you with a barrage of question about your ride to Busby, Best. c.

Maybe the battle Steve told Tom about was part of this expedition, you all will be familiar with this mission, but it is still interesting just to look at the organisation of the 7th cavalry, just look at the officers and there respected commands, same crew as 1876 but in slightly different roles. linkIan.

It is hell to wake up the morning after with an airhead and they are not what you would like for a life's partner. Sorry to be so crude.
