I am no where near the LBH historian most of you are. I have walked the battlefield a couple times and have done most of the mainstream reading. I for one found this episode to be absolutely a disgrace to anyone looking for the truth in history. The only Legend and Lie in this show was Mr. Orielly and his presentation of Custer and the men involved in the LBH. I for one will be going to the show site on Facebook and posting about how terrible this was. Maybe some of you who are more versed than I am in the topic should consider doing this. owyheeshane Welcome to the board! I am no historian and have been to the battlefield only once. Like you I was very disappointed with the program. Regards Dave

Beth Funny it didn't look like Omaha or Eastern Iowa from St Joe to Omaha that is. Regards Dave More Nebraska along the Platte. Or in Oklahoma. I'm pretty sure that their Washita battlefield doubled as LBH. St. Joe to Omaha would take you through Western Iowa, not Eastern and it's a very unique area because of the Loess Hills. I won't get all geology on you but they are really cool. Beth Youa are correct, it was Western Iowa we went through. We drove from KC to Omaha and it was like driving in the Mississippi delta. Flat land with corn higher than the highway! We went to he College World Series and only spent 1 night in Omaha. I would love to go back and spend a little more time and visit places off the Interstate. Regards Dave

Well that just goes to show that my wife was right when she said I was not normal. I love visiting new places and traveling but must admit no where comes up to home in my eyes. Regards Dave

Very strange coincidence! I had a conversation recently with a friend who was saying he once spent a couple of weeks in Omaha Nebraska and had the best time. He did say most people won't understand that, but he loved it. Careful...we could start a tourist rush to Omaha and ruin it. Cheers
owyheeshane Welcome! Post a bit please.

I think I shall do the same. And welcome here, to you. Oh, and by the way, did anyone notice how inaccurate the uniforms were? Best wishes, Fred.

I just posted a lovely little blurb on the Legends and Lies FB page. That ought to get me nowhere but a clear conscience.
Best wishes, Fred.

Beth, I am from Idaho. Thanks everyone for the welcome. I went directly to the post concerning GAC and made my post. I know it probably doesn't matter but it had me mad as hell.

Hello Owyheeshane and welcome, your title is quite a mouthful, do you mind if we can we shorten it a tad?
Ian.

Beth, I am from Idaho. Thanks everyone for the welcome. I went directly to the post concerning GAC and made my post. I know it probably doesn't matter but it had me mad as hell. My best friend moved to Emmett back around 2004. He built a beautiful house there, then had the damn nerve to up and die on me: June 8, 2008. His wife still lives there... along with her father and a sister... and Geoff is buried on a knoll in a cemetery between Emmett and Boise. We were there three times, the last in 2008 to bury him. I still think of him often... and will miss him forever. Best wishes, Fred.

It looked like they bought some blue overcoats from the Salvation army. They didn't even try to make them look like uniforms--except for the person playing Custer, they might have borrowed that one. Hello Owyheeshane and welcome, your title is quite a mouthful, do you mind if we can we shorten it a tad? Ian. Ian, if it helps it's pronounced O Why he. A corruption of Hawaii. I used to see the Owhyee Mountains out my bedroom window when we lived in Caldwell.

Is this show a proper put together programme or just a short TV documentary made for use on a news station?
Ian.
