Hello to all. As everyone here knows ... ah, who am I kidding, as maybe one or two of you know, I put together a book called Crying for Scalps: St. George Stanley's Sioux War Narrative about 4-5 years ago. Well, the company that prints it is currently offering 25% off until December 25, 2014. The coupon code is KTP4. Truth is, I have been considering removing it from the Internet the end of this year since it has earned me nothing more than a pack of gum in all that time. Okay, that's a lie. It was a pack of gum and a Snickers bar (maybe a slice of pizza, too, but it's been a while and the details are fuzzy). Anyhow, if you want it, this is a good deal. Here is the link: www.lulu.com/spotlight/indianwars And for those interested, here is a little website for my book, Sioux War Dispatchesmarcsdesign8.wix.com/siouxwardispatches

By the way you guys... I have both editions of this book. It is absolutely worth every dime you pay for it. I highly recommend it. It is a compilation of the writings of the so-called adventurer, Charles St. George Stanley, while he was with Crook in May and June of 1876. An absolutely fascinating account... maybe the best ever written.
If it is on sale as Marc says, it is well worth the investment.
Best wishes, Fred.

Thank you Fred (for the highly kind words about Crying for Scalps). And congratulations to Fred for the publication of his second book. I have a feeling that not many people have the (technical) mind to put such a book together. For those interested in the Skirmish at Tongue River Heights (June 9, 1876), there is an extended version of my True West article (published last year) on the Sioux War Dispatches website marcsdesign8.wix.com/siouxwardispatches. It's in two parts. Cheers.

It is praise well deserved, Marc. Everything I have ever seen you do is first-rate.
Happy Thanksgiving... and give our best to your lovely wife and son.
Best wishes, Fred.
