DucemusHuguenot History In 1685 Louis revoked the Edict of Nantes, while exiling all Protestant pastors and at the same time forbidding the laity to leave France. To the considerable surprise of the government many did leave, often at great risk to themselves. Men who were caught, if not executed, were sent as galley slaves to the French fleet in the Mediterranean. Women were imprisoned and their children sent to convents. www.huguenotsociety.org.uk/history.htmlen.wikipedia.org/wiki/HuguenotNoted Hugenots - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_HuguenotsSt. Bartholomews Day - www.reformation.org/bart.htmlen.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Bartholomew%27s_Day_massacrewww.geni.com/people/General-Louis-de-Reynaud/6000000000874892902huguenotsneworleans.org/home.htmlAttention à ce que vous souhaitez pour books.google.co.uk/books/about/Lafayette_in_America_in_1824_and_1825.html?id=WhGc5a5srvYC&redir_esc=yThe Huguenot cross is the distinctive emblem of the Huguenots (croix huguenote).[74] It is now an official symbol of the Église des Protestants réformés (French Protestant church). Huguenot descendants sometimes display this symbol as a sign of reconnaissance (recognition) between them. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huguenot_crossThe persecution and flight of the Huguenots greatly damaged the reputation of Louis XIV abroad, particularly in England. The two kingdoms, which had enjoyed peaceful relations prior to 1685, became bitter enemies and fought against each other in a series of wars (called the "Second Hundred Years' War" by some historians) from 1689 onward. Charleston, South Carolina, is home to the only active Huguenot Church in the United States - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charleston,_South_Carolina

Are they many Huguenots in the Yucatan peninsula area? Are they endemic to Central America? If the answer is no, then why in the name of sweet tea would you attach web sites dealing with the Huguenots. I realize you and I have not seen eye to very often but this takes the cake. Please see a professional and seek assistance. People are pulling for you and want to see you get help. I care and hope you follow up on this suggestion. Regards Dave

Come on Dave, everyone knows that the Lost Tribe of Huguenots came to Yucatan to teach the natives to make mocha espresso with French roast. I know because I read it on the back of a sugar packet at a coffee shop.

Ah Mr. Jack and Jackie, what a pair. Good sippin' and really good drivin'. I am more a Monet fan and very partial to Water Lilies. A little van Gogh to reach my inner HR and sitting by a good snug turf fire listening to the Welsh story A Man Carried Through The Air By The Fairies, now that is a planned activity. Regards Dave

Steve, I think he is just trying to remind us Colonials what we have missed out on for the last 239 years or so.
