I just got the latest Research Review from the LBHA this evening. In it is a 16 page article by Fred Wagner entitled "Marcus Reno, Time, & The Little Bighorn Valley". Fred develops a timeline and then goes on a point by point examination of the action from the time Reno received his orders from General Custer until he began his retreat to the bluffs. So far I've just looked at the pictures but will spend some time reading it over the next couple days. It looks good so far.

Brian C. Pohanka was a man of great intellectual foresight and, he exemplified a unique ability to describe historical events in an open, honest, and engaging and palatable format. I have only recently been privy to his enormous contributions to the study of the Little Big Horn Battle. Incredible contributions that evaded my small world of knowledge simply because I was unable to see the forest due to the trees which blocked my view.
I even used his name (a long time ago) as a sobriquet for posting on this forum which drew the wrath of Ms. Merkle in a manner which, at the time, I could not comprehend. I do so now.
I would like to know more of this gentleman and would appreciate to hear from members who knew him, who may be predisposed to share bits of personal data regarding such a charming and dedicated person.
Thank you!

Never met him; never knew him. Too bad.
Best wishes, Fred.

I never met him either. However, the book he co-authored with Jim Brust and Sandy Barnard, WHERE CUSTER FELL, is one of my favorites. Probably one of the top five best of all time.
