Reading the above post almost makes me wish that the First Ammendment to the Constitution had a Herorest exclusion clause. It does.

Hunk: You may conclude from my above comment that afterbirth ranks higher on my value scale than does this raving lunatic. Take it and...... hold on tightly. That be 'the high ground and it is firmly established in the myth that became this battle's continually enhanced substitutions of witch's broth for realities that, Trumpeter Martin saw an advance by Custer's command when he (Martin) looked back from high ground whilst marching towards Benteen with the message which Cooke (apparently) penned for Custer. To do that, Martin was not watching Custer's companies in MTC and as Martin stated that force (be with you) had progressed beyond Medicine Tail Coulee. Not too difficult to comprehend that reality, is it? Thus, where did the soldiers go? There is lots of research which tells us. Custer went to the high ground and was up on Greasy Grass Hill. Way up on the....... high ground.

Is there a location on this site that lists individual member versions of the battle? What they believe occurred in chronological order? It seems that most of the site consists of the battle broken into parts - then debated ad Infinitum. If not - there should be. In my opinion, a location that lists member versions should be central. Otherwise, many of these debates appear more as petty, endless arguments/opinions that accomplish little. A bit like watching politics. Having ur version in b&w for all to critique would force members to put their $ where their mouth is.

Member chronological versions on their member profile page would be best. Being able to easily find each member’s chrono version is key to making it work.

A relevant Timeline. There are many more. Feel free to put your detailed line up for consideration and lets see where it takes us. We may just get a stroll around the boundaries or end up at Ford D. Play on, please. Although such 'scientific' consideration is ultimately useless with this battle, the intellectual exercises are often very worthwhile and immensely useful in gaining and growing battle knowledge, its understanding and its use or should this be uses.... ho hum. I have found the application of chronologic's to Little Bighorn an immense side issue which detracts by rooting thinking in strongly held pedantics. Timing study is an imprecise slippery slope (on Greasy Grass) which moots precision but is in reality approximation ad infinitum. The battle became its own battleground of personalities applying vague time to offical and legal time in arguments over rights and wrongs and responsibilities. Seeds of the disastrous defeats were sown in the politics and failed expedition to Powder River in the March of 1876. That snowball just carried on gathering momentum through summer until Miles got to grips with problems and fought a winter campaign. The Summer campaign was deeply flawed and blame for setbacks suffered by Crook and Terry lies squarely at the top. Wrong strategy, poor practice, poor intel, and overconfidence all the way to Washington and with some very fluffy woollen thinking from Terry (particularly) in regards hostile numbers. It was known that 1500 hostiles eventually confronted the 'Boys' expedition into that same territory in 1874. Because time of the place was an underlying issue of the RCoI which addressed Whittaker's accusations against Benteen and principally Reno, there was then and remains now, the confusions of legal obfuscation of specific time. The underlying time data is unreliable in several ways and for profound reasons. Pedantic study which devolves into micro assessment of events is therefore pathetic in the classic sense since it resolves nothing and where it should assist in limiting the number of praticable theories developing the tactical fighting - the opposite is true and since it was possible to walk a mile in 20 minutes and ride over five in 15, then time based theory is irrelevant to pedantic study and its theory. No one knows now, as then, what happened and knowing what time something might have happened does not mean it did. There are a number of ideas about what time was used and simply realising that pulls the plug on the whole concept of a nice neat and tidy time and motion based understanding of pet theories which can be passed off as what really happened. Time has become a tool of the cronies and fans who continue to wage the battle's blame game. Porcelain knot study is a false flag matter. I would be interested to know at what time you feel the first march after the night march halt, began?
