How very very interesting.
I have not posted in this thread since January 4, but the saga has continued, with several interesting twists and turns, until today when the seller finally agreed to refund what I paid for the four items I purchased in November and December.
Then this evening I found that a new member, "cloudless," had joined and contributed some interesting information, and just yesterday. That would have been only hours before the occurrence of one of the most interesting, and catalytic, twists of the last month.
If you are reading this, cloudless, and are not, in fact, that same seller, I invite you to somehow prove the same. Please.
And bc, my goodness, I am certainly impressed with your acumen. Flatulence does, indeed, exist and you have quite the sniffer for it.
Gangreen, and I think others, are lining up to allow the seller to make good, and I, at least, intend to allow him the opportunity. MA

Monte, thanks for the update. Strangely enough, I was curious about how this episode was turning out. How about that Texas man's basketball team! I'll bet you are counting the days to the start of woman's lacrosse or something. Billy, who is not ashamed of kicking a team while it's down.

Texas has a basketball team? I need to look into that.
Actually, my attitude toward b-ball is that they should give each team 100 points and a minute to play. Either that or raise the goals about five feet. The game was designed for men the size of those in the 7th. MA

A bit more on a certain seller, and the "blackpipe museum" ....one will get better google results with the name "Blackpipe State Bank." As mentioned earlier by another poster.
See ebay 220379567059, and the storm regarding its authenticity or lack of it. The seller, whose auction just closed amid some controversy, originally purchased that mask, and its "provenance" documents, from the seller under discussion.
This item is recognizable as a common Indonesian item, a staple of the importer's catalogs; the wood is obviously Indonesian, not an American or Canadian species. Like many such imports, it appears to be based on photos of the work of a specific, living native artist. Yet the mask had "provenance" including blackpipe museum documents....
The current seller's FB confirms: this item was purchased from the same seller who is the subject of this thread. It was sold by him in April 2008, ebay 370033493623.
The original seller (now NARU) has also listed and sold, over the past few years, around 50 bone " Alaskan Eskimo artifacts" bearing written dates, from around 100 years ago, yet all unblemished; and in appearance identical to items shown in the catalogs of the Indonesian bead-importers today. My experience has been that genuine old native items do not come in duplicate copies, by the bagful.
I'd be interested to hear how things work out with the LBH artifacts. I don't know anything about LBH, but do recognize the import versions of NW Coast masks, totems, bowls, and bone items.

Allfacts:
There are currently at least two consumer fraud complaints pending with the Arizona Attorney General's office against the seller associated with the Black Pipe Museum. If anyone desires to contribute their experience or to file their own complaint, feel free to contact me for information at monteakers@yahoo.com.
Yes, friends, despite the promise to refund what I paid by the end of February, said seller did not do so. Shocking, isn't it?
Which proves, once again, that "A fool and my money are soon partners." MA
