Hey, Leyton, in going over this thread I just realized you said you were from the NW suburbs of Chicago. Which one? I grew up in Prospect Heights.

Melani--
A proud, proud graduate of Palatine High School in Palatine (go Pirates!!). I was born in Evanston, but spent my formative years commuting between P-ville and Flagstaff, AZ. Worked for a while just down Addison from Wrigley Field (Addison, Elston and Kedzie) Prospect Heights sounds really familiar, but I can't picture exactly where it is on my mental map.
I thought of you on the Big, Big 100th anniversary. You coming to LBH in June? Leyton McLean

Yes, I will be there for the first time since the early 1970's. And I was also born in Evanston, as was my father. Palatine is not too far from Prospect Heights, which is also near Arlington Heights and Mount Prospect. (I've always wondered about those names when the whole area is flatter than a pancake!) I went first to Forest View High School (surrounded by cornfields, not a forest in sight), and then to Wheeling High School.
Now my youngest kid is graduating from high school on June 14.

I had a cousin who was from Evanston. Their name was Halema. That's a nice place, isn't it?

My dad went to Northwestern--studied math and physics. Never graduated--joined the Navy instead. My uncle also went to Northwestern, but I think he studied football.

Folks in my family who went to Northwestern: Mom, Dad (he didn't graduate. Liked frat life too much), Grandma, Aunt, Uncle-- actually, he studied physics there as well.
