"How many men has Priscilla Presley married? Zip. She knows that last name is her meal ticket. Libbie knew the same thing and used it to create the fortune her "beloved Autie" could not provide in life. "
This board is, as usual, an anti-Custer maffia. Insulting Libbie, showing herself like a b... or worse, showing Custer as a glory-hunter and a fool... Is Russel Means still running the LBHA or do you want to welcome Noam Chomsky in your next events? What a shame.
There is NO one person here with enough guts to defend Custer according to historical facts.

Now CS, you know that is not true. I defend Custer if and when he needs to be defended. There are many others who do so, as well. Custer made mistakes and probably everyone else involved also made mistakes, but to throw all the blame on one or two individuals, is wrong.
Best wishes, Fred.

We are just being objective . . . no one was perfect. Not Custer, Libbie, Benteen, Reno, Godfrey, Weir, Wallace, Cooke, etc., etc.
All showed their good and bad sides regarding the LBH.

Come on, CSS, give it a break. The majority of us are here to discuss the truth--not yours or Libbie's mythology--when it comes to your hero. When GAC did something of positive note, we generally note it, and when he did something less gallant or smart, we take him to the woodshed. It's matters of interpretations--those areas of gray--that separates us. Now be good. --t.

So, Trish, how do you really feel about this?
Best wishes, Fred.

Was I too strong? I mean I enjoy the TofE as much as the next person, but the childishness, the constant taunts, and the putting of angel's wings and spiffy, sparkly halo upon GAC gets a bit much ...
History should be concerned with finding the real person--lumps and all.

Trish--
What the hell is "TofE"? I know what "T and E" is, but...
And no, you weren't too strong, not at all.
Best wishes, Fred.

Custer made mistakes and probably everyone else involved also made mistakes, but to throw all the blame on one or two individuals, is wrong. Best wishes, Fred. To find that Custer never disobey any order, follow his own judgement just like Terry asked him to do and send the scouts to look around Tullocks Creek just like Terry asked him to do, all this needs... 10 minutes to be etablished. But Elizabeth still talks about the disobediance myth and everybody agrees. Is that objectivity? If you say that Custer had many love affairs (please give evidence, and not Benteen's lies)... Prove it.
