This has gotten too far into the realm of fantasy for me. I suggest you read:
"Archeology, History, and Custer's Last Battle" by Richard Allan Fox Jr. and "Lakota Noon" by Gregory F. Michno and every book written by Richard G. Hardorff.
Then come back and we'll talk some more.

Xavier --
There are two things I do not appreciate about you.
My husband wrote his dissertation about Thomas B. Weir, and I resent your taking that name and displaying his likeness. You, sir, are no Tom Weir.
Secondly, I am fiercely pro-American, and I will not tolerate insults to my country or its people.
Other message boards have ceased because one person got out of hand. I will not let you ruin this board.
FYI -- I'm sure that most of us have read Nightengale's book, but I don't know a single credentialed historian who would cite it as an authority.

it's perhaps because most of the historians of your country are UNABLE to make a difference between Benteen's lies and the other testimonies.
Benteen said that the pack train was on Reno Hill at 5h15 p.m., but everybody around him disagree. However, most of the LBh scholars are sure that the packtrain was there after 5 p.m.
A lot of historians said that Reno Court of Inquiry made interesting statement about Reno, but everybody with a single part of intelligence in his brain could see that the reports of 1876 are different from the statement of the Reno Court of Inquiry.
National Park Service bought Eric Von Schmidt's painting for its "accuracy", despite all the archeologists said that Custer made a stand with a V skirmish line, and there is no line, no skirmish position in the painting...
John Carroll, a "brillant Custer historian", a "specialist" as he was called by others, was the historical adviser in Son of the Morning Star, which shows a white flag in Black Kettle's village in 1868 and several other huge mistakes.
Robert M. Utley, the "best Custer historian ever", said that Custer told Ludlow in 1876 that he would cut loose from Terry... Despite Ludlow never said that, but it was a story from Robert Hugues, who was Terry's brother-in-law...
Excuse-me, I am a huge pro-American, maybe the only one in my country who supports Custer. Bush, the Iraq War, the War on Terrorism, USA etc., but I don't trust very much all the "specialists" and all the "historians"...
Nightengale told much more truth about Benteen that Utley who likes to quote the captain even he knows that Benteen is a liar all the time...

"Gosh, Cap't Weir is starting to sound like his brother who throws the around the notion of treason with abandon and little knowledge of American jurisprudence. "
My God, this statement is really funny... ;D ;D
American Jurisprudence !!! Benteen and Reno gave a map in the Reno Court of Inquiry with a lot of differences, like the distance between the village and Reno's skirmish line, new crests etc.
That's lies. I am sure American jurisprudence doesn't accept lies in a Court...
