Rolling back to the subject at hand (not the booze but the subject)...where can the article on the horse find be found? Being an ex-archaeologist I cringe when I think of contexts of such a find being messed up. Who knows what other questions might have been answered by such simple things as where the horse was, which way it was facing, how it lay--though that might be harder to determine by bone scatter, but you never know. And other things like any other wounds on the horse, how many rounds left, the equipment there or some removed, if so what, and on and on. Anyway, there is so much more to a find than the arifacts themselves.

James:
The article is in Greasy Grass [the CBHMA journal], Vol. 12, May 1996. If you have difficulty finding a copy, which may be likely, I'd be happy to mail you a copy. I will need your mailing address, however, since I don't know how to Email this kinda stuff.
You can PM me, or Email me with the address, if you like. My Email is under my profile.

Dear James, When you receive that article from Gordie, would you consider posting some of the information on this thread? There is a picture of the wooded area where the horses' remains were found on the Friends Website. That's where I first heard of it. www.friendslittlebighorn.com/custerslaststand.htm Thanks, Montana Bab
