herosrest make a movie or start with a youtube video, it all seems very interesting but with all those green letters on blue and other combinations for superdaltonian viewers, and with thunderstrikes it is just unreadible, and i still don't know who the scout was; enjoy your way of working and story telling though, but the lay out... hmm!

Herosrest:
You keep changing your montages on me. I coulda swore I saw 2 perky parrots the other day mentioned in your post and now I can't find them. It also appears all your montages have changed and have some added information in them. Just spending a couple hours of study and not doing any scientific analysis, I can buy into your position that Barry's photos are of Calhoun hill. You basically have Keogh's battalion moving from Luce and Nye-Cartwright ridges and moving north to Calhoun Hill and along Battle Ridge. Gall coming from the south and east, overrunning Calhoun hill, Keogh moving off of battle ridge to his swale to help the retreating Calhoun hill troops, Keough's I company gets overrun with his remants going to LSH. Anyway this is the way I read your montages today assuming they won't change again. That appears to be your model for the east side of Battle Ridge. And to me that would explain Keogh and I company. I have never believed he was in his swale in reserve but on Battle Ridge or somewhere else in the action. If Gall overrun Calhoun, then Keogh would have to move down into the swale to protect his flank and that of LSH and for all I know, Keogh may have been at LSH and moved to stop Gall except Gall doesn't say that.
That doesn't explain your model for MTC though and what happened at Luce, etc.
And how do account for what happened west of Battle Ridge?
Your model would disagree with Dale though. If I am reading her right, then the entire Custer Wing was firing from Luce and Nye Cartwright ridges with no troops separating and feinting towards ford B. Then the wing moved north and around Deep Ravine, then separated with Custer going to ford D and Keogh holding Calhoun Hill and Battle Ridge. I'm not sure what the purpose of all the firing from the ridges was for though except to try to fix the NAs there and maybe pull them off Reno.
Wolf: Custer didn't discover the gold in the Black Hills. Miners had been in there for some time getting gold and looked to the Gov for protection from being killed by the NAs. Custer was a mere puppet on the Goverment string to all the gov to power grab the Black Hills and its gold and make the the gold discovery official in one swoop. Custer gives the charade away himself. I have a book of Custer's letters to his wife (although I can't find it now). In it was a series of letters he wrote Libbie on the Black Hills expedition. A letter he wrote to Libbie about gold in the Black Hills appears to be on the trail to the Black Hills and predates the Official gold finding by Lt. Gibson on the August 2, 1874 French Creek recon. Maybe somebody with the book can confirm or refute my recollection here.

yes he does changes and add things on the way, this wonderposter. Well anyway Herosrest is making himself a nest stronger each day for that vulture of DC to prey on. Thanks BC for that gold mining detail. I will look into my sources. Damn you can't write a thing here without checking first Anyway Custer was the one who gave most publicity to it allthough i don't have the exact newspaper coverage of the BH gold before and after custer's passage. I still persist though that Custer 'won' his battle over the lakota there in the black hills with the end of the great sioux reservation. Without the gold the treaty might have held into the early 20th century and who knows yellowstone 2, with people, hunting!

arkansas traveller reported : 1806 lodges? that is precise. they had a birdwatch clicker herosrest I think you are an unbelievable source of piled up information. if I were in your shoes I should write a highly controversial book. but if you could NOT change the content and the layout each time I restart reading you to verify my last visit, it would help at least me. as for reading half is impossible with white and yellow backgrounds, and multi color letters. sober it up please! DC is ill?

Ok Herosrest, how about keeping up your previous montages instead of just changing one? Now I have to issue a disclaimer to disregard all prior comments made by me on this thread because they relate to something this isn't there any more to compare to. I haven't taken the time to study your new one yet but why bother if you are going to change it in a weeK. There are other people who might want to come back to this next year for research purposes and if you are deleting and changing everything how do you expect them to follow this thread.
I also can't seem to save it and zoom in very far or otherwise print them for further study. They don't seem to print except for a corner of an 8.5 by 11 inch sheet of paper.
